HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY DEAR LIBBY

I searched among the card displays,
to see if I could find,
A little something that would say
just what was on my mind.

However there was not a one,
that captured it just right,
For no one else can understand
just what I’d like to write.

I even find it difficult
to try to write it down,
For how do I portray to you,
this friend that I have found?

I close my eyes and what I see,
is someone I adore,
A person who is beautiful,
and even so much more.

Mere words cannot describe
the many qualities you show,
The love and caring that
you share with those you know.

Your smile and laugh that sparkle with
the softness of your sighs,
The way your face lights up a room …
that twinkle in your eyes.

I struggle and I search to try
to find some words anew …
And yet I cannot capture
all the things that make you… you.

I will therefore, be satisfied
that you must simply know,
Just how I feel about you,
for with words I cannot show

A circle is round it has no end, that’s how long I want to be your friend.

I LOVE YOU GIRLFRIEND AND AM SO HAPPY TO CALL YOU FRIEND!!

    True.. what you feel towards your friend cannot be replicated in cards !
    Your words are very beautiful… I am sure your friend LOVED it too!

    This was wonderful. I find myself unable to find cards for my daughter for the exact reasons mentioned. No one else can say it for me.

    What a beautiful softly spoken poem, being grateful for the wide circle of friendship is so hard to describe — but your poem speaks of the certainty woven between the two of you.

    Sweet poem. It is so hard to find greeting cards — sometimes I buy blank (on the inside) ones because I can find a good picture on the outside, but not the words I want. Happy Birthday, Libby!
