ALONE

It’s weekend..wonderful blissful weekend!!  Nothing planned for two whole glorious days, no phones ringing in my ear from dusk to dawn…recharge time!  I love to be alone.  This may sound strange, but for me, even though I am more of an extrovert, being alone is somewhat therapeutic.  On one hand, you could say it’s because of the fact that I grew up as an only child.  Whatever the case, when I don’t have enough time for myself, I feel drained, irritable and over stimulated! As a result, alone time becomes very important.

I think that to function well as human beings, we need time for ourselves….time alone gives you the ability to discover things about yourself and to get an understanding of who you are.  Relying on yourself to make choices and decisions increases your self-confidence, which carries over to all the other aspects of your life…even those times when you are in the company of others.

For me…looking forward to rejuvenate my soul, decompress and relax, makes me so excited.   So, no social commitments, pottering around my house in my most comfortable clothes, walking my dog, catching up on those things I don’t have time for during the week, is how it’s going to be.  Wherever you are, I hope you take the time to do the same this weekend.

I love being alone

Where I can rejuvenate my soul

My spirit becomes free

That’s where I always want to be

Happy and carefree

Lovely post, Buttercup. I agree, it’s nice to be alone sometimes and to be comfortable with your own company.

  9. Oh I know exactly what you mean when you say we all need alone time. I know many people who are actually uncomfortable being alone but I have never really understood how that is possible. It is a wonderful feeling just being alone with your thoughts and memories, to discover yourself, to relax, and learn about yourself better. Not to mention the therapeutic aspects of being alone. We all do need friends, but more often than not, we just need to be alone to really get over a situation.

Lovely poem too 🙂 Enjoy your weekend!
