Very beautiful, and definitely felt a tone of sadness in it too. Maybe the “wonder” and “pictures” in the mind grant to the “long road home” that heart within, to treasure the journey.

I really liked the conversational, somewhat hesitant, tone of the first two lines. and then the way this (to me at least) gallops through images that we know are about love, like you are trying to find the right image to express perfectly what you feel but it just keeps slipping just out of your hand.
